Yesterday there was a sale at children's place. There was a WHOLE wall and a few racks of 3.99 stuff for sale. I bought Jesse 10 future sleepers/pants/dress shirts/fleece sweaters etc! Can you imagine 40 bucks for 10 NICE pieces of clothing?! That was very exciting for me. Baby clothes are very addicting to buy, cause there so cheap. What is 8 bucks a shirt, or 6 dollars for a little pair of shoes? But it does add up! So, I wait for the sale at the Childrens' Place. Every week there is a sale usually. It starts with a 25% off rack... but you always wait... cause it goes up by increments of 5% every Wednesday until it hits 50! And then if there are still a bunch of left overs they want to move, they'll do 70% a few times a year, or this crazy 3.99 business. I've also seen 2.99 deals there. SO, I've learned to hold off, and it is certainly worth it!
After our fantastic afternoon of shopping and picking up Daddy Dave from work, we came home for supper and some Jack Bauer Love before Dave had to head back to the school to do some work with a software program he was needing to use in his world issues class. I decided to spend my evening sewing another pair of PJ's for Jesse. Yes. I'm addicted to baby clothes. I usually alter the patterns to make it fit properly, but this time decided to make my own sort of emo-slim fit jamie outfit for him, and grabbed a roll of Christmas wrap to make my own pattern pieces. I'm not a patient person, and probably should have put a little more thought and measurement into it. Because while it looked cute OFF, I tried them on him this morning! AND OH DEAR. The neck was about 2 inches too big, the arms were 2 inches too long, and I over did the emo-slim fit thing. WAY too tight! Dave kept calling him Octopus arms all morning. The pants were ok, though. A little close-fitting, but cute. Here is a picture. Just had to include it.
Last night, after I finished cutting and sewing, I headed for bed. I couldn't sleep very well. I kept thinking I was hearing people in the apartment, and I was wondering where Dave was. Around midnight I dragged my butt out of bed to try and call Dave on his cell. I noticed a message was left on our answering machine (which explained the noises, and reassured me I wasn't crazy). It was Dave's mom saying that Dave had been trying to get a hold of me from a pay phone, and called her when he couldn't reach me. She passed along the message that he had locked himself out of the staff room at school, and his keys and wallet and phone were all in there! He didn't have a way to get home, as our car key was locked up in the staff room, and Dave had decided he would be sleeping there tonight in a hallway somewhere until someone could let him in when the morning came. Oh Dave.
This is not the first time he has locked himself out of buildings. Last time that happened, I sent a cab with my car keys so he could atleast get home. However, Dave just so happened to have borrowed my bank card before he left- which was now locked in the staff room, and we didn't have a way to pay for the taxi. On top of this, Dave wasn't finished his lessons plan, and needed into the staff room> He had no idea how he was going to be ready to teach the next day. I fell asleep around 1 I think, feeling bad for Dave on some cold hard floor in the school, while I had our delightful Queen bed all to myself. Around 2 pm I though I heard voices again. Dave was home!!! I was worried for a second that he just decided to walk. But I guess he somehow pried open a window or something to get an extra set of keys. I fell back asleep much easier with Daver home. But was awoken at 3 pm by Jesse. He ususally goes back to bed for 4 hours after his middle of the night feed, but lucky me, he was up and ready to go at 6:00 this morning! I'm feeling surprisingly energetic, and happy despite a terribly interrupted sleep, and think I might seize the energy and bake some bread and clean the house. Thanks for reading. I'm off :)
