Trimester 1 has concluded

Well, I am re-entering the blogosphere after a two month hiatus. I also noticed that my March and April facebook photo albums were incredibly sparse compared to my normal 50 plus photos. I do have an excuse. It’s trimester 1. It’s a killer! I can never get over how much energy and motivation that first bit of pregnancy takes out of me. I am now officially at week 14 I think. I have a friend who is due the same time as me, and she always reminds me, cause I just can’t remember. Anyways- the past few months have been full of upset stomach, early bed times, random tears, zoned out stares, and super low blood pressure. It’s weird how each pregnancy can be so different from the other. I never had blood pressure issues with the first two. I am so dizzy and faint, and weak feeling a lot of the time. My limbs also fall asleep like mad over silly things. Like a hair band on my wrist. That just about cuts off all circulation to my hands. Yup. Anyways, my energy and motivation are finally returning a bit, my nausea is easing up, and that is enough about me.

Dave and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary last weekend. It was glorious. We took off without the kids and crashed at a hotel for the night. Waking up without anyone yelling for us, and being able to have a leisurely swim and breakfast was so wonderful. Dave got me the most beautiful set of salt water pearl bracelets. There are 12 of them all in different colors so you can match them with just about anything in groups of a few, or a ton, or just one. I will have to take a picture and post later.

Dave has 3 more weeks of classes! Then exams and marking and stuff...but summer feels SO close. Especially with the nicer weather that has been surfacing this week. I know that Dave desperately needs a break from his 12 hour work days, and I am so excited for him to have free evenings, and some days to sleep in. I will continue to work part time in the summer- but having a helping hand for house work and the kids will be a great break for me, too.

Kids are doing well. Jesse is growing a bit taller- and is now in the 40 percentile for weight and height. He is so independent at the park, and with so many things, I can’t even believe he will be 3 soon. He says every little thing that crosses his mind, so he pretty much talks non-stop. Today in the grocery store he was just commenting on all the food, “ Oh and crackers. I really like crackers. Right, mom? We have crackers at home, and yestertime (that is his word for yesterday) I take crackers to school. And Porter has crackers at school. And look mom, sauce. I don’t like sauce very well. Just a little bit. Janna likes sauce, right mom? The grocery store is my friend, I just like it a little.... ” and it goes on and on and on. Quite entertaining, unless he is whining. He has become a bit of a backseat driver, and likes to comment on all the lights. “Green, GO mom! Fast, fast, fast. Oh and a red. You have to stop.” But, he prefers green lights. So, often, on the way home from school when he is overtired and grumpy, we will approach a red light and he will yell, “No! Mom, I want a green. I want another green light! Pleeeease, mom. I just want a green light again.” He does not understand that I don’t control these things, and I have given up on trying to explain it.

I think part of the reason Janna isn’t as chatty as Jesse is because she doesn’t have much space to get a word in! I notice she chats a lot more when Jesse is playing on the Ipad or if he is still napping. She has 4 molars in now, for a grand total of 12 teeth. She is still just 16 pounds, and actually lost some weight at her last monthly check in, so may have to go through the celiac testing. But she eats well, and is happy, so I don’t suspect she has it. She is still very independent and likes to feed herself, read to herself, play by herself, and find accessories to put on her arms or head or feet. She also likes stripping down when she wakes up from her nap time. I weaned her cold turkey about 3 days ago, and so she has had a bit of a harder time settling in to sleep at the end of the day. However- on the up side- she has been wanting a lot more cuddles and that has been really nice. Just snuggling with her to snuggle.

Well, that is a little update on us. Hopefully I will be a bit more regular, but I make no promises. Thanks for reading! I’m out.
