A daddy day sorta mornin'

I feel very pleased to announce it has been a happy day in the Vance household.  I was somehow spared the un pleasantries that befell Katie and Dave.  Although I spent from Tuesday night to Wednesday night  feeling totally under the weather and  quite certain I was going to be sick any second, I was able to sleep last night and woke up with an appetite this morning.

So, the 4 of us chowed down on a big breakfast this morning.  Jesse, had 3 bowls of cereal, an egg, a banana, and some of Dave’s bagel.  Janna wasn’t too far behind!  I probably ate the least of everyone, but it sure felt good to want to eat.   We took our time getting ready this morning, and didn’t have to be anywhere till 9 am.   Clearly, letting Janna wear Jesse’s underwear doesn’t usually happen due to time constraints on school days J

Driving home with the kids after my 9 am chiropractic appointment, we passed by a Tim Hortons.  Any time we see a Tim Hortons Jesse tells me what he wants there.  “I want a chocolate donut at Tim “Portons” mom.”  This happens several times a week, and I rarely stop in.  He never fusses when I say “sorry, not this time,” as it’s the response 95% of the time.  I am astounded that he continues to ask EVERY TIME we see one.   But today was one of those 5% days.   So, we stopped at the next one and splurged on a  Halloween sprinkle donut and water to share .  Janna was really into the ice water with the straw and Jesse was super into the donut.   It worked out well.

I was really happy to discover my camera in my purse while paying.  I felt like “daddy,” being at Tim’s with a camera.  That was a very normal activity for him and the kids this summer.  Perhaps why Jesse asks so often?   So, I decided to continue the daddy vibe and go to the park to play armed with my camera.  It was such a nice overcast fall day, and there were some really stunning trees in full fall colors surrounding the park.   The kids had fun playing in the leaves, on the equipment, and running around in the field together.  The mess I had to tackle when I got home of sand caked into damp shoes and pants was totally worth it

We came home and tackled some art activities, watched an episode of TV before lunch, and now the blissful time of day for NAPS has almost arrived.  What a great day so far!  Hope you’re all doing well. Thanks for reading. I’m out.
