a purple package on a grey day

It’s a grey blah feeling day in Ottawa today.   I felt happy that I wasn’t scheduled to work, as it’s a PD day for the public school board, and that is what the nursery school schedule follows.   I realized I am due in 40 days as of TODAY.  Wow.  Although, I must say I am certainly feeling it.  So,  a day at home to take it slow  is just what I was feeling!  I was happy to spend the morning cuddling and reading with the kids, and watching a few cartoons with Jesse while refereeing Janna and Coopers wrestling match(video post to come on facebook).

However- we needed a trip out by 10:30 as everyone was getting ancy, so we stepped out to get a few groceries.  Jesse had whiney break down in the store, wanting everything and not wanting anything.  He just about melt-down with every item I tossed into the cart. I was just motoring down the aisles wanting to pay and get outta there!  Crossing the parking lot a box fell out of the bottom of my cart,  resulting in a near topple over, and then a man proceeded to lecture me that Janna should be buckled into her seat properly.  *Sigh*   (I do buckle Janna into the grocery cart for the majority of the ride, but when she gets bored at the checkout I take it off, and she occupies herself by clicking it together over and over and over for the remainder of our excursion.)  I just said nothing and kept moving.

We got home and I was feeling very pregnant and so tired and hungry.  Trying to put away groceries and get lunch made while you and your children are both starving is always a test in patience, but we got it done.

Shortly after, the doorbell rang with a mail carrier delivering packages.  One for Katie, and one for Baby Vance 3!  How exciting!  Her first package J  The mail carrier was one I hadn’t seen before, but very nice.  She came right inside the house as she noticed the dog trying to escape and my hands full.  She showed Jesse her scanner and how it worked and was very sweet with both of the kids.  I love people like this.

Our package was from Nana Vance, and Jesse proceeded to very agressively rip open the package.  He and Janna excitedly tried on all the gorgeous homemade knit things she sent.  Thanks Sharon, they are beautiful!  She also included some new things for baby 3 like a sleeper and bibs and burp cloths.  All things I do have- but SO special to get something brand new for this little bundle on it’s way.  Lots of purple, which I love, too.  It was definitely a highlight of the day!

The kids are now down for their naps, and the sun is starting to peek out of the clouds, making me feel warm and calm even though I’m exhausted and tired.  Hope everyone has a great long weekend. Thanks for reading! I’m out.
